Easter Brunch

So on Easter we had a brunch at our house with some of our friends from PA school.  It was so neat to host our friends who didn't have any family in town; I felt like we should share our family!  The forecast for that weekend was supposed to rain and I didn't know where we were all going to sit.  But it turned out to be a beautiful day and we were able to sit out on our back deck.  Thanks to the help of my mom, we cooked a nice brunch.  It felt like a normal Easter to me, everything that we are blessed with: good food, good family (minus some), good friends, and the celebration of our faith.

We kind of just lounged around and visited all afternoon.  The guys watched the Master's tournament while us girls sat in the kitchen and ate dessert!!!  Then we played a game of Scattergories.  It was so fun because we actually got the guys to play and they were getting in to it.  A very enjoyable Easter.  
Then Monday afternoon I got to have lunch with my parents and then I had to say goodbye.  Jeff got them to the airport and I had to get back to class.  We had a wonderful visit and are so happy they were able to be here for such a special weekend.  I miss being close to family!

Well I hope all is well with everyone.  I am pushing through my finals week right now.  Our Spring semester is coming to an end, yippee!!!!  I only have one more semester until I go on my rotations.  Crazy how fast the time is going.

A wonderful Easter weekend!

So I know it was over three weeks ago but it was so amazing and very special. We celebrated Jeff's baptism and confirmation. My parents came out for the weekend and got to share in this special day. Jeff has been preparing through classes at the church for baptism. It has been a really neat experience to watch him go through. The church that we joined here in Billings is a wonderful parish, so welcoming and supportive. The blessings in our lives along this journey have just been incredible. We have met some really neat people and friends through church and feel like we have an extended family. Everyone that was a part of the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program just fell in love with Jeff and admired his enthusiasm and up beat spirit. So his baptism was part of the Easter Vigil Mass on the Saturday before Easter.  It was a truly amazing night, I can't really find the words to describe it. I am so happy for Jeff and it just made me so happy inside to see my husband being baptized!
