This past Thursday Jeff was surprised with a visit from his Mom and Dad. It was so fun to actually pull off the surprise. Thursday nights are usually kind of crazy at our house, because I am always study for my big tests on Friday. I had a meeting until about 7:00, so I told Jeff that we should just grab a quick dinner. Well we walk in to the restaurant and Doug and Sue were sitting there at a table waiting for us. Jeff had no idea, he yelled out, "What the ____?!!!" and was so surprised to see his parents. It was cool to see his reaction. 
enjoyed chasing the ducks! Don't think they were supposed to be off their leashes for that reason, but we are the rebel parents :-)
Yesterday was Jeff's birthday. He had a wonderful day, even though he had to work. We went out to dinner to Montana's Rib & Chop House, really yummy, but not as good as Jocko's according to Jeff. Then we came home for presents and birthday dessert. Jeff's present from me was a snowboard helmet (a must!) and insulated Carhartt coveralls for work. I told him, as you get older, your presents become practical and not so exciting! 
I am looking forward to the rest of this week off from school. It is our midsemster break, yipee! Except that I have a list a mile long of things I want to get done. We'll see how many I get to. I've already watched two of my tevoed shows and the next thing is to give the dogs baths, so I'm going to get to it. That will be a mini rodeo of it's own!
Wow! We have gotten at least a foot of snow in the past two days, maybe more. It has been an adventure learning what living in the snow is all about. We woke up to a tree branch that had fallen in 
our back yard and just about took out our storage shed. Good thing it didn't because who knows where we would have stored all that stuff! And our neighbor behind us had some branches fall into our yard too. Scary! So then Jeff went out to the driveway and started shoveling. I went outside to take pictures, and 
offered to help, but Jeff said no. So I gladly went back inside! The dogs were by Jeff's side all morning. They absolutely love playing in the snow now. Roy just about had his head buried in it this morning. And Miley thinks she can chase snowballs.
some hills at the base of the Rims. It was beautiful. The sledding was a little scary at first, the hill was pretty steep. I screamed like a little girl 
everytime I went down! The dogs played with a few of our friends dogs and would chase us up and down the hill each time. Jeff tried putting both of them on the sled with him. Miley was a good sport but poor Roy got mangled at the bottom, Jeff landed on top of him. He's ok, but it could have been a disaster. Jeff found a snow skate buried in the snow and the crazy daredevil that he is, was trying to skate down the hill. It only took a couple falls before he stopped. We had a lot of fun! 
It is an October Saturday morning, Jeff and I are sitting in our house watching the snow fall. Yes, you read it right, snow! It started snowing Thursday night and is supposed to continue through the weekend. It was quite a shocker to wake up with snow covering our front yard. But very exciting for us coastal Californians. I think I am the joke of my class, everyone laughs at me when I say this is cold. They say, "just wait this isn't even cold." So Jeff and I will be stocking up this weekend with a snow shovel, ice scraper, and all the gloves and scarves I can find!
've been selling 50/50 tickets at the Rocky football games to raise money for our program. It's been pretty successful.
The other picture is a field out to the west of town. I was driving out there the other day and stopped to take some pictures. People probably laugh at me, stopped on the side of the road! But it's so pretty, I can't help it.

weekends ago. It's a beautiful view, you can see just how sprawling this city really is. But at some points it's a little too close to the edge. I was like a nervous mother, every time the dogs would get close to the edge I would say, "Jeff get them!" So...behind Jeff you can see the tall buildings, that is the downtown area. Our house and my school are off to the right. I went running up there last Saturday but I left the dogs at home because I was too nervous! I think this weekend we're going to check out the River Front Park, which lines the Yellowstone River. I am sure that's an even 
prettier picture of fall so check back for those pictures.
re leaves are falling as he is raking. He has been so supportive of my schooling and even cooks dinner often so that I can study. We have a deal that when I am all done with school and have a good job, I am sending him on a surfing trip! (He really misses the ocean)
