Good News

Well...I think it's good news. Allegiant Air has added a direct flight between LA and Billings. So anyone who is dying to come visit can hop in a car and fly from LA for like $69.00 each way! Let us know when you want to come, we'll be here :-)

And...some more good news...we're coming home in May, yeah! I have a conference in San Diego May 22-27, and then we will drive home Thursday and stay through Sunday. We are both very excited and can't wait to see home. It's been a long time. Hopefully we will get to see everyone, it will be one busy weekend, but fun! We're looking forward to it.

Things have been going well. Continuing to learn and soak it all in. We had a kid's assessment day this past Wednesday. So anyone in our class with kids brought them in and we got to practice our physical exams on them. It was a great experience, and I really enjoyed it. They are so different to examine, it's more difficult than you would imagine.

So Jeff finally got the mountain bike that he has been wanting and it was dry enough to go riding a couple of weeks ago. He went with a couple of our buddies from class and had a great time. Then the next weekend he had to work and they were all going riding again, so lucky for me I fit on Jeff's bike, and went mountian bike riding for my first time. I loved it. And now I want a bike of my own! It was a little scary at first. They call it "singletrack" riding, so the trails get pretty narrow and can be steep. But it was a lot of fun and I can't wait for nicer weather so we can go more often. I didn't get any pics of Jeff when he went but here are a few from my experience.
That's all for now. Hope all is well and talk to you soon.

Happy Valentine's Day

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. My day was a special one. I am super overwhelmed studying for a big cardiology test on Monday (the heart, how appropriate), so Jeff decided to make us dinner. It was really good, rib eye steak with blue cheese butter and horseradish mashed potatoes. Yum! And now I'm back in my office studying, but had to take a break to write this. I was actually starting to fall asleep so I thought I should do something to wake me up.

So...not much else is new. Everything is great. But I will make a disclaimer for not calling people back right away or keeping in touch as much as I would like, just been a little overwhelmed! Hopefully I will have some time in the near future to take a breather.

Miss everyone and hope all is well.
Love, Jennifer

Back To The Grind

Things have been pretty busy for us here in MT. I am back to school now and this semester is a lot more challenging than the last. We are in school pretty much everyday until 4:00 sometimes 5:00, so it's been a challenge to fit in everything else in life. But it's making the time go fast! We have started seeing a mock patient once a week. They have a present complaint of something that we recently learned and we have to work them up and come up with the diagnosis. A little nerve racking but great experience. Everything is sinking in more and more and now we are really getting to the nitty gritty, like lung and heart. It's exciting. Oh and we have a separate class this semester just on pediatrics. I love it!

Jeff is working as much as possible with this unpredictable weather. It was 60 degrees last week and now it is in the single digits and snowing again. Weird!

Here are a few pictures from our school's holiday party. Our director, Dr. Wilmouth, likes to call us pros, hence the cake that he got us. And that was the countdown until we are out of the classroom and out to rotations. It really is amazing how fast time goes.

The dogs are doing great, as usual. Living the
spoiled life!
Well nothing else too exciting with us. Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone.

Hope everything is well and talk to you soon.

Love, Jennifer
